I am fascinated by what makes one business work really well and another struggle. I have worked with 100’s of business owners and I made a study of why this happens. In the fall of 2011, I codified the business concepts I observed, used and taught over the past 15 years. I found that it isn’t the strategies and tactics they use, but rather the way people look at their business.
About a year ago, we were smooth sailing in my bookkeeping business. I had 3 people working full time and we were growing. The only problem was that it wasn’t as profitable as it should have been. I mean, I was working hard, paying salaries and not taking enough money home for my family.
I didn’t mind doing it for a while as we grew, but it wasn’t getting better.
At the same time many of my clients were experiencing the same things. Working as hard as ever and making less profit.
It was time to rethink.
It was hard to think with my business in trouble. So I did something radical. I set aside the first hour of every day to work on this new project. Two months later I had developed the basic s of Your Effortless Business concept.
These are thoughts that had been rattling around in my head and in my work with my clients, but I hadn’t taken the time to write them into a cohesive package – until last fall.
I shared these thoughts and found they resonated with others and I hope they resonate with you. It’s not information that we lack. All the information we need is available. It is support, accountability, cheer leading and inspiration that we need. All of these come from being part of a group.
