Let’s face it, most of us don’t have MBA’s. We keep hearing about how we need a Marketing Plan, Operations Systems, HR Policies and Accounting Procedures. We’re too busy selling, making, hiring (and firing) and counting our pennies to even think about all that.
There are 2 very important reasons why that thinking can’t work for small business:
- No one, I mean, no one, has all the skills and knowledge to design and implement all of that. Not any MBA, CEO or Business Guru. Not even Michael Gerber himself. So how can we?
- We are too busy running our business to step aside and work on things that don’t mean increased profit, more customers, saving time and helping us live better today.
I saw hundreds of business owners struggle with this thinking and everywhere they turned for help they were told the same things: you have to do all these things if you want to be successful. You just have to make the time to do it, take these courses to figure out how and train your staff. I saw the frustration and the burn out.
I knew there had to be a better way. So I studied and learned and asked and found best practices and that’s when I came up with the concept behind my book. Make your business predictable, create an environment that works for you, help your team support you (recognizing that most of your team is outside your business) and make sure that what you do pays you well. Do that and you will create a successful business. The real secret is that you will end up with systems that make sense for you, that you naturally implement and that slowly and surely mean your business is running smoothly with less effort from you.
Once you understand this, you will look at each problem differently – you’ll understand why you have that problem and what you have to do to make sure you never have it again.
This workshop series is for you if you have been in business for a while and you are struggling – to make enough profit, to get more customers, to get more results for the effort you put in and to grow as a business person.

It’s my belief and experience that people don’t need more information. Titles like: “10 tips to…” attract people, but they don’t really help. We will be a small enough group that we will be able to explore the 4 cornerstones from my book: predictability, environment, team and getting paid well so that each person will get one action in each to which they can commit. Then, as a group we will hold you to those commitments.

We are so lucky living here and at this time, that we have a responsibility to do big things. This session will help you dig deep so you can make the next big leap you need to make. We’ll explore courage, creativity, innovation and letting go.

Each workshop is taking place at a different HUB location within an hour’s drive around Nova Scotia.
